A concerned citizen who called a suspected drunk driver has been praised by police.

Local police said last night: “Officers arrested a woman this evening on suspicion of drink-driving after she was stopped in the Acrefair area of Wrexham following a call from a concerned member of the audience.

“We would like to thank the member of the public who called to raise concerns about the manner in which the vehicle was being driven.”

North Wales Police are reminding people:

The legal alcohol limit in England, Wales and Northern Ireland for driving is 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 milliliters of blood or 35 micrograms of alcohol per 100 milliliters of breath. In Scotland the limit is 50 milligrams of alcohol per 100 milliliters of blood or 22 micrograms of alcohol per 100 milliliters of breath.

There is no way to know how much you can drink and stay below the limit, as it can depend on your weight, age, metabolism, how much food you have eaten and others. factors.

It's impossible to get alcohol out of your system quickly, it always takes time. A shower, a cup of coffee, or other ways to “sober up” may help you feel better, but will not flush the alcohol out of your system.

If you have been drinking out, you could still be affected by alcohol the next day and lose your license if you drive and still exceed the legal limit.

Alcohol affects everyone differently and any amount can impair your ability to drive. The only safe option is to avoid alcohol altogether if you drive, as even “one drink” could put you over the limit.

If you drive, don't drink alcohol at all.
