Police: Suspect flees after shooting man, injuring child during Prince George's Co. youth football game

Police in Prince George's County, Maryland, said they are actively investigating a shooting that killed a man and injured a child Saturday afternoon during a youth football game at Potomac High School in Oxon Hill.

Police in Prince George's County, Maryland, said they are actively investigating a shooting that occurred Saturday afternoon during a youth football game at Potomac High School in Oxon Hill.

Around 11:20 a.m., officers responded to the school following a shooting and found a man in the stands suffering from a gunshot wound. Police said the man was pronounced dead after being taken to hospital.

Police said a second victim, a child, was also found with gunshot wounds and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect fled after the shooting, police said. They are asking anyone with information about the suspect or possible motives to contact 1-866-411-TIPS.
