Police, multiple agencies arrest serial home invader linked to metro Detroit invasions

David Alan Hudson, 59, was arrested by detectives from the Waterford Police Special Operations Unit as well as officers from White Lake, Farmington, Farmington Hills and West Bloomfield after another home invasion.

The incident occurred Friday, June 21, after Hudson broke into a home on Drake Road in Farmington.

Officials say at the time of the arrest they were able to recover stolen items from the home, along with two handguns, burglary tools and crack cocaine.

Police said a search warrant was executed at Hudson's home and stolen property was recovered in recent home invasions in Waterford, Troy, Farmington, Milford, Keego Harbor and several other locations across the metro Detroit area.

Hudson was accused of:

  • Count 1 – Home invasion, 2nd degree – 15-year misdemeanor

  • Count 2 – Possession of burglary tools – 10 year offense

  • Count 3 – Carrying a concealed weapon – five-year felony

  • Count 4 – Convicted felon in possession of a firearm – five year felony

  • Count 5 – Felony firearm – two-year felony

  • Count 6 – Convicted Felon in Possession of Ammunition – Five Year Felony

  • Count 7 – Felony firearm – Two-year felony

  • Count 8 – Possession of cocaine – four-year felony

  • Count 9 – Felony firearm – Two-year felony
