Police investigating stabbing in southeast Calgary

Police are investigating a stabbing early Friday evening that sent a man to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

According to Rob Anderson of Calgary Police, the man was found in the community of Penbrooke Meadows around 6:25 p.m.

“A man was discovered there with stab wounds, treated and transported by EMS,” Anderson said. “They were initially in life-threatening condition, but I understand it has been upgraded to stable condition.”

Anderson said police currently have no further information about what led to the stabbing.

“That's what's curious. He was found with stab wounds there, and the priority was to take care of his medical treatment,” he said. “Once he's ready to talk to us, he'll be able to tell us more. But as for whatever led up to this, we're uncertain and it would just be speculation at this point.”

Police are asking anyone with further information to contact police.

“If anyone was in the area and saw anything or took photos or videos of anything, please let us know,” Anderson said. “Whether through our [non-emergency line] or if they want to do it through Crime Stoppers, they will remain anonymous. »
