Police investigate stabbing in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Providence police are investigating a stabbing that occurred Sunday night.

Authorities responded to the scene around 6 p.m. at Elmwood Avenue and Woodman Street after a person was stabbed above the left ear, Providence Police Department spokeswoman Lindsay Lague told 12 News.

The victim was transported to Rhode Island Hospital by Providence Fire Department and was conscious and alert.

At this time, no additional information has been provided on the victim or if there is a suspect.
