Police investigate shooting at Berkeley-Oakland border

Police are checking with area hospitals to see if anyone has arrived with a gunshot wound.

Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Monday evening on the Berkeley-Oakland border.

The reports are preliminary, but police began receiving reports of people possibly shooting at each other from two vehicles around 6:20 p.m. in the area of ​​62nd and Adeline streets.

Authorities said on radio that the shooting may have occurred on the Oakland side of the border.

Police reportedly found three vehicles hit by gunfire: one near 61st and Adeline streets and two at Essex and Tremont streets in Berkeley.

Shortly after 6:40 p.m., Berkeley police arrested three people on Tremont Street.

Police were checking with local hospitals to see if anyone had arrived with a gunshot wound.

At approximately 6:45 p.m., Berkeley police turned the scene over to the Oakland Police Department.
