Police investigate fatal stabbing in Soundview – Bronx Times

Bronx police are investigating a fatal stabbing near an apartment building early Wednesday morning.

Officers of the 43rd district responded to a 911 call about a person being stabbed around 2:39 a.m. June 5 in front of 945 Underhill Ave. in Soundview.

When police arrived, they found a man, whose age is currently unknown, bloodied and with a stab wound to the chest, police sources said.

EMS took the victim to NYC Health and Hospitals/Jacobi where he was pronounced dead. Police are not releasing the identity of the victim pending notification of family.

Police do not yet have a motive for the stabbing or a description of the suspect(s) involved. No arrests have been made at this time.

The case is still ongoing.

The 43rd Precinct has seen a nearly 67% drop in murders year-to-date compared to 2023. Overall crime is also down nearly 17% during the same period last year in the region , according to the latest crime statistics.
