Police investigate fatal stabbing in Baltimore

Baltimore, Maryland—Homicide detectives are investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred in the Western District Tuesday morning.

At approximately 8:59 a.m., Western District Patrol officers responded to the 1000 block of Brantley Avenue for a report of a stabbing. When they arrived, they found a 59-year-old man with apparent stab wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital, where he later died.

  • 12-year-old girl arrested on bus in New York

    BRONX, NY— A distressing incident occurred Tuesday afternoon when a 12-year-old girl was assaulted aboard an MTA bus. The assault took place around 3:15 p.m. near West 162 Street and Ogden Avenue. An unknown person approached the young victim, who was sitting on the bus, and forcibly touched her over her clothes.

    After the incident, the attacker fled the scene on foot eastbound on East 161st Street. Emergency medical services treated the victim at the scene following the attack.

    The suspect is described as a man approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, approximately 145 pounds with a medium complexion. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, white t-shirt, black pants with white stripes down the sides and white sneakers.

    Authorities are asking anyone with information about this incident to contact police as they continue to search for the suspect.

  • Brooklyn police search for four suspects wanted in double shooting

    BROOKLYN, NY— Early Tuesday, two men were injured in a shooting involving four unidentified suspects. At approximately 3:05 a.m., the suspects, exiting a gray four-door sedan, fired multiple shots outside 787 Washington Avenue. A 61-year-old man was hit in the torso and a 36-year-old man was hit in the right leg.

    Following the shooting, the assailants fled eastbound on St. Johns Place toward Classon Avenue. The older victim was taken to NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, while the younger victim was transported to NYC Health and Hospitals/Kings County; both are reported to be in stable condition.

    Authorities are looking for four individuals. The first suspect was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black and white sneakers. The second was dressed in a black hooded sweatshirt, gray pants and white sneakers. The third suspect wore a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants with white stripes, complemented by black and white sneakers. The fourth individual was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, gray pants and black sneakers.

  • Police release photos of suspects in Southeast DC armed robbery

    Washington, D.C.—Detectives are asking for the public's help in identifying suspects and a vehicle involved in an armed robbery in Southeast Washington.

    On Sunday at approximately 12:18 p.m., the suspects approached the victims in the 1500 block of Freedom Way, Southeast. One suspect brandished a handgun and the suspects took the victims’ property before fleeing in a vehicle. Surveillance cameras captured images of the suspects and the vehicle.

    Anyone with information leading to the identification of the suspects or the vehicle is asked to contact police at (202) 727-9099 or text 50411. The DC Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for crimes in the District of Columbia.

  • Investigation underway after pool vandalism in Wilkes-Barre

    WILKES-BARRE, PA—The City of Wilkes-Barre Police Department is investigating an act of criminal mischief that resulted in damage to a Mayock Street resident's swimming pool. The incident reportedly occurred on the night of June 23.

    A 55-year-old Wilkes-Barre woman contacted police after discovering her swimming pool had been vandalized. According to the victim, an unknown person threw various objects into the pool, including a ladder, a grass trimmer, a deck chair and fairy lights. This act of vandalism caused significant damage to the pool covering.

    Police visited the scene on Saturday evening to assess the damage and begin their investigation. Authorities are currently looking for leads to identify the suspect responsible for this property damage. The investigation remains active as authorities gather more information.
