The unidentified driver was driving a dark-colored SUV when the incident occurred around 3:40 a.m. and did not remain at the scene.

Police said a 28-year-old woman was sitting in the middle of W58th St near Mount Sinai West Emergency Department when she was fatally struck by the vehicle. Emergency medical services pronounced him dead at the scene.

The woman was identified by police as Lisette Guillen of Cypress Hills, Brooklyn.

An employee at the 24-hour G&G Deli (10th Ave bw W58th/57th St) said store employees noticed the street was closed off by police activity early in the morning. Security footage from the grocery store failed to capture the hit-and-run because it happened across the street from the hospital, between 10th and 9th avenues, he said.

No arrests have been made and the investigation by the NYPD's Highway Collision Investigation Squad continues.

The last hit-and-run in Hell's Kitchen occurred in January when a black Toyota injured a mother and her two sons as they crossed W42nd Street and 9th Avenue.
