Police identify suspect arrested after brazen shooting outside Revere Stop & Shop – Boston 25 News

REVERE, Mass — Authorities have identified the suspect in custody following a brazen daylight shooting outside a Revere grocery store Tuesday.

Jeremy Carl Taylor-Tripp, 20, is accused of shooting a man outside the Stop & Shop on Squire Road around 6:30 p.m.

Officers who went to the grocery store Tuesday evening found the victim suffering from non-life-threatening injuries and transported him to Massachusetts General Hospital for treatment, Revere police said Wednesday .

Members of the Revere, Everett and Malden police identified Taylor-Tripp as the suspect and arrested him at a residence in Everett with the assistance of the Massachusetts State Police.

Investigators recovered a 9mm handgun shortly after the arrest as well as an extended magazine.

Video from a Tesla camera shows a confrontation between a group of people before the incident. A person appears to pull a gun from his waistband and shoot the victim a few steps from the entrance to the store, where customers can be seen entering and exiting.

The witness, who wished to remain anonymous, was in his Tesla as it charged in the parking lot and saw everything.

“If it’s a gunshot, don’t let it hit me, because I don’t want to get shot either,” the witness described. “It happened right away.”

He said the man who was shot ran toward Stop and Shop and the man who pulled the trigger quickly walked away.

Taylor-Tripp is expected to be arraigned Tuesday in Chelsea District Court on charges of assault with a weapon with intent to kill, carrying a loaded firearm, possession of a large capacity feeding device, carrying a weapon firearm without a license, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. , possession of ammunition without an FID card and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building.
