Police: Home invasion leads to triple stabbing in Taunton

TAUNTON, Mass. (WPRI) — A man faces multiple charges after three people were stabbed Tuesday afternoon in Taunton.

Cye Key, 24, was arrested after Taunton police responded to Paul Bunker Drive for reports of a stabbing. Police say three victims were taken to a local hospital for their injuries.

Key allegedly entered an apartment armed with a hammer and a large knife and attacked the victims. Police said their investigation revealed the incident stemmed from an argument the night before.

Key is charged with two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and one count each of home invasion and possession of crack cocaine.

Police said Key also had outstanding arrest warrants from previous incidents.

Sources told 12 News that Key was sentenced to prison in 2019 for shooting a liquor store owner during an attempted robbery.
