Police find man shot dead on Haugh Street

INDIANAPOLIS — Indy police opened a homicide investigation this week after a man was found dead from gunshot wounds on the city's west side.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said officers were called around 1 p.m. Thursday to the 400 block of Haugh Street for a death investigation.


Upon arrival at the residential area, located near the intersection of W. Vermont Street and N. Warman Avenue near Max Bahr Park, officers found an adult male unresponsive inside his home. .

IEMS arrived on scene and pronounced the man dead. Upon further investigation, officers discovered that the victim had suffered a gunshot wound.

IMPD homicide detectives were called to the scene to begin an investigation. The Marion County Coroner's Office will soon conduct an autopsy to determine the exact circumstances and cause of death. As of the publication of this article, no name or identity of the victim has been released.
