Police arrest two 'suspicious' men for drug possession, illegal carrying of concealed weapons – Canon City Daily Record

Two armed Cañon City men were arrested early Friday morning on suspicion of possessing a “substantial amount” of narcotics in the 1100 block of Monroe Avenue.

The city of Cañon issued a news release Monday saying Jesse McAlhany, 31, and Ezra Davis, 20, were arrested just after 1 a.m. while responding to a report of two suspicious people riding bicycles and hanging out behind some homes.

Upon arrival in the area, officers contacted individuals on bicycles who matched the description of the two suspects.

“Upon contact, officers quickly discovered that both individuals were in possession of concealed firearms,” the news release states. “During a subsequent search of their property, a significant quantity of narcotics was discovered and the firearms and narcotics were seized.”

McAlhany was arrested on suspicion of special offender, a Class 1 drug felony; possession of a controlled substance X2, a Class 4 drug felony; possession with intent to distribute X2, a Class 2 drug felony; unlawful carrying of a concealed weapon, a Class 1 misdemeanor; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a minor drug offense.

Davis was arrested on suspicion of special offender, a Class 1 drug felony; possession of a controlled substance X2, a Class 4 drug felony/Class 1 drug misdemeanor; unlawful carrying of a concealed weapon, a Class 1 misdemeanor; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor drug misdemeanor.
