Police parade two female suspects arrested in Abuja for child trafficking

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command says it has arrested two female child trafficking suspects.

FCT police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, announced their arrest in a statement on Thursday.

“Officers of the FCT Police Command, on April 27, 2024, at around 8 p.m., arrested Kulu Dogonyaro and Elizabeth Ojah in connection with the trafficking of five children,” Adeh said.

She said the suspects who attempted to evade arrest by Sokoto police operatives were intercepted and arrested by FCT police officials at Kagini junction in Abuja while transporting the children of suspicious manner.

Adeh added that the FCT Police Command, in the spirit of unity, has now handed over the suspects and victims to the Sokoto State Police Command for further investigation and prosecution.

She further said that the FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Benneth C. Igweh, urged parents to pay utmost attention to their wards.

CP Igweh also reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring the safety of the people of Abuja.

He also called on residents to be vigilant and take advantage of police hotlines to report suspicious activities.
