Police arrest man dealing crack cocaine

Shortly after 3:30 a.m. today, Trooper William Rolls, assigned to the Foxboro State Police, was driving on Elm Street in North Attleboro when he saw a white Jeep SUV drive past him in the opposite direction. As he passed Trooper Rolls, he observed an extremely dark tint on all windows, including the windshield, then reversed direction and initiated a traffic stop.

After the vehicle came to a complete stop, Trooper Rolls approached it and identified the driver as DERREL GRAHAM, 29, of Roxbury. After informing GRAHAM why he was stopped, Trooper Rolls tested the window tint and confirmed it was 8% clear, below the legal limit of 35%. Due to the extremely dark tint of the windshield and front side windows, Trooper Rolls determined that the vehicle could not be safely driven at night and requested a tow truck to respond to remove the Jeep from the roadway . Before the Jeep was loaded onto the tow truck, Trooper Rolls conducted an inventory of its contents. During the inventory, officers discovered a bag containing a large quantity of a substance suspected to be crack cocaine, later weighed for a combined total of approximately 360 grams.

GRAHAM was placed under arrest and transported to the Foxboro Barracks for booking. A bail commissioner was contacted and set bail at $100,000. He was scheduled to be arraigned in Attleboro District Court on the following charges:

1. Cocaine trafficking;

2. Dangerous driving of a motor vehicle; And,

3. Illegal window tint.
