Police arrest heavily armed New York man who expressed jihadist views online, sources say

A heavily armed Queens man who shared extreme jihadist views online was arrested in his car early Wednesday – with sources saying they feared the madman was planning something “very bad.”

Judd Sanson, 30, was arrested shortly after 4:30 a.m. Officers found a loaded gun, nine loaded magazines, a bulletproof vest, handcuffs, two axes, a stun gun, several knives, a weighted whip and an extendable baton. as well as NYPD “articles,” police sources said.

Several disturbing messages were engraved on the stick, including: “You gave me no choice, I'm sorry, you will [sic] learn today” and the Arabic word for “God forgive me,” the sources said.

They also found an orange MTA vest, according to sources.

“Given what was in there, something very serious could have been avoided,” a police officer told the Post. “The intent is still under investigation. The sum of the parts had the potential to produce something horrible.

Sanson also allegedly expressed extremist views in online posts, according to the sources.

The sources said officers from the 110th Precinct in Queens questioned Sansom around 1 a.m. after a traffic stop near 23rd Avenue and 86th Street and determined he had the weapons in his Ford Explorer.

Police initially stopped the SUV due to an obstructed license plate. and believed he was living inside the vehicle — and was a regular drug user, according to sources.

Sanson has no prior arrests in the Big Apple, they said.

Cops gave him a plate violation and charged him with criminal possession of a weapon and ammunition, the sources said.
