Law enforcement has identified the man who allegedly stabbed a 25-year-old pregnant woman multiple times in front of her vehicle at a San Diego ATM.

Cole Klemke, 27, of Carmel Valley, was arrested Sunday around 2:30 p.m., police said.

The stabbing happened around 9:55 a.m. Saturday at 8251 Mira Mesa Blvd., inside a Target shopping center in the Mira Mesa neighborhood.

“A suspect approached the victim and punched him in the upper body. The suspect pushed the victim to the ground and punched the victim two additional times in the upper body,” a San Diego police spokesperson told reporters.

The victim suffered deep cuts to his neck, left shoulder and chin. She was taken by ambulance to a local hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released.

Her identity was not immediately available, but it was reported that she was four months pregnant at the time of the attack.

Klemke reportedly fled the scene after bystanders came to the woman's aid. His motives are unknown and he made no statements or demands before or during the attack and took no property.

It's unclear what led police to identify Klemke as a suspect, and details of his arrest have not been released.
