POLICE AND RESCUE NEWS: Goshen Police Respond to Sunday Stabbing, Shooting Injury | News

Goshen police are investigating a stabbing that occurred early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to Crazyman's, 1914 Elkhart Road, at 12:34 a.m. on a report of a possible stabbing, according to a Goshen Police Department report. There, they found a 24-year-old man with minor stab wounds, who was then transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

During the investigation, police learned that the victim had instigated a fight with a 37-year-old man, which resulted in an injury. Both subjects cooperated with officers during the investigation.

SHOOTING REPORT

Officers responded to the 700 block of Lincolnway East at 4:44 a.m. Sunday for reports of multiple shots fired at a residence. A 36-year-old woman reported shots fired from a vehicle on the roadway. A 60-year-old woman was shot in the left leg and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police found several bullet holes in the house.

VEHICLE ACCIDENTS

  • Jason Davis, 42, Osceola, was driving eastbound in the 700 block of Plymouth Avenue in a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado at 6:45 a.m. Friday when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. He said he was tuning the radio and his tire had hit the edge of the roadway before the crash. He refused medical treatment, but a passenger in his vehicle was taken by medics to Elkhart General Hospital for lacerations to his neck and arm.   • Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash at 12:33 a.m. Friday in the 1200 block of Park Meadows Drive. The owner of a GMC Acadia said he was heading north around the corner where another vehicle, a gray Honda Cr-V, parked (unattended), was speeding in the neighborhood. The driver of the Acadia said he got out of the vehicle to yell at the other vehicle, but did not park the vehicle and the vehicle began dragging him down the road, claiming the vehicle had hit him and the vehicle had continued. rolling. He then said his vehicle then rolled onto the street and the front bumper struck the driver's side fender of the Honda which was parked in the driveway unattended. The driver of the Acadia had a cut on his leg and was treated by Goshen medics and transported to Elkhart General. ARRESTS

  • Two South Bend women, ages 32 and 31, were each arrested for shoplifting at 4:52 p.m. Saturday after officers went to Kohl's at 3802 Midway Road. Both were released with a court date imminent.
  • A 22-year-old Elkhart man was arrested on OWI charges after officers conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Peddler's Village Road and Elkhart Road at 12:09 a.m. Sunday.
  • A 37-year-old Bristol man was arrested for disorderly conduct at 2:36 a.m. Sunday after officers responded to the 400 block of Silverwood Lane.
  • A 32-year-old Goshen woman was arrested on charges of OWI, never obtaining a license and leaving the scene of an accident at 3:43 a.m. Sunday after officers responded to a vehicle crash in the intersection of N. Greene Road and W. Clinton St. She was taken to jail.
  • A 28-year-old Elkhart man was arrested for criminal mischief and disorderly conduct Friday at 11:49 p.m. after officers responded to a reported battery at the El Imperial Botanero bar at 113 S. Main St. in Goshen. He was taken to prison.
  • A 33-year-old Elkhart man was arrested for shoplifting Friday at 5:10 p.m. after officers went to Walmart in the 400 block of Elkhart Road. He was released with a court date imminent.

HOUSE FIRE

Police and firefighters responded to a house fire at 8:09 p.m. Friday in the 300 block of Park Ave. A 52-year-old man reported a fire in a small appliance, which Goshen fire units extinguished.

THEFT/Burglary

  • A 23-year-old Goshen man reported at 5:38 p.m. Friday that unknown persons stole money from his room between Tuesday and Friday.
  • A 38-year-old Goshen man reported at 5:58 p.m. Friday that a neighbor had his security cameras stolen between May 24 and last Friday in the 100 block of 7th Street S. and also said having been the victim of an assassination attempt. battery at 5:20 p.m. Saturday in the same area.

BATTERY

  • A 61-year-old Goshen woman reported at 4 p.m. Friday that she was a victim of battery at Walmart at 4024 Elkhart Road. She did not require medical attention.

  • A 50-year-old Goshen man reported at 8:19 a.m. Saturday that he had problems with a health care facility following the death of his mother.
  • Officers responded to Walmart at 2304 Lincolnway East at 8:18 p.m. for a civil guard dispute.
