Police: 4 people hospitalized after shooting in southeast DC

Police in Washington, D.C., are investigating a shooting that injured four people near Boone Elementary School on Southeast Sunday evening.

Police in Washington, D.C., are investigating a shooting that injured four people near Boone Elementary School on Southeast Sunday evening.

Police told WTOP that shortly after 6 p.m., officers responded to the 2200 block of Minnesota Avenue in Southeast for a reported shooting.

Upon arrival, the department said, officers located two adult males suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were conscious and breathing when first responders transported them to area hospitals.

Police said two other victims, an adult man and a young woman, were located at area hospitals and treated for gunshot wounds.

Additionally, a police officer responding to the shooting was involved in an accident and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are currently searching for a dark colored Hyundai which was spotted near the scene. The department is asking anyone with information to contact them using the tip line: 202-727-9099.
