Plymouth police search for missing man with dementia – Boston News, Weather, Sports

PLYMOUTH, MASS. (WHDH) – The search continued Wednesday for a missing 69-year-old man who was last seen at a Plymouth hospital Tuesday morning.

Plymouth police, in a Facebook post, said Rodney Riviello had a history of dementia. Police shared photos of Riviello and said he was last seen at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth at 11:15 a.m.

Police described Riviello as a heavy-set, bald white man wearing a striped collared shirt, blue shorts and possibly a Yankees baseball cap.

Plymouth police asked anyone within two miles of Beth Israel's facility to search their property for Riviello.

“If you think you have seen the individual, please call us immediately,” police said.

Plymouth police first asked for the public's help Tuesday afternoon. Around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, police said they had not yet found Riviello.

Dozens of officers were still searching for him and police said they had extended their search to a five-mile radius around the hospital.

“We are asking all residents to conduct a thorough check of their property, searching anywhere a person may be,” police said.

Police also asked residents to review any surveillance cameras on their property to see if they had captured video of Riviello passing by.

The Plymouth Fire Department, in its own post Wednesday afternoon, said Riviello would be traveling on foot.

Firefighters said he suffered from “severe memory problems.”
