Plymouth police ask for public's help as search continues for missing man with memory issues – Boston News, Weather, Sports

PLYMOUTH, MASS. (WHDH) – The search continued Wednesday for a missing 69-year-old man who was last seen at a Plymouth hospital Tuesday morning.

Plymouth police, in a Facebook post, shared photos of Riviello and said he was last spotted at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth at 11:15 a.m.

Riviello's children said he suffered from memory loss after suffering several mini-strokes.

Police described Riviello as a bald man, 5'10″ and 190 pounds with brown eyes. He was wearing a striped collared shirt, blue shorts and possibly a Yankees baseball cap when he disappeared.

Plymouth police first asked for the public's help Tuesday afternoon. As of Wednesday afternoon, police said they had not yet found Riviello.

Dozens of police officers were still looking for him.

“We are asking all residents to conduct a thorough check of their property, looking everywhere a person could be,” police said in a Facebook post.

Police also asked residents to review any surveillance cameras on their property to see if they had captured video of Riviello passing by.

Riviello's children said Wednesday afternoon that their father was admitted to Beth Israel after falling while walking alone. He was reportedly released after a few hours, without a phone or wallet and without his family members being informed.

Search efforts have intensified since Riviello's disappearance, now including hundreds of police, firefighters and community members using K9s, helicopters, ATVs, ATVs and heat sensors.

Police told reporters they had numerous leads, but none came to fruition. Police said it was possible Riviello got into a car after leaving the hospital. As their search continued, they asked anyone with information on Riviello's whereabouts to contact them.

“I am asking anyone who saw our father yesterday or today and may have been looking for someone to help them or take them somewhere to call the Plymouth Police Department or 911 with any information,” said the Riviello's son, Dan Riviello. “We are obviously disappointed and scared that we haven’t found Dad yet. But his 70th birthday will be in a few weeks and we are not giving up hope.

“We are confident he will return home safely soon to celebrate his birthday with us,” Dan continued.

Authorities expressed concern about Riviello, especially amid Wednesday's extreme heat.

A spokesperson for Beth Israel Deaconess Plymouth addressed the situation, saying in a statement: “Our thoughts are with the family as they go through this very difficult time. »

“BID Plymouth has fully cooperated with the Plymouth Police Department and will continue to do so,” said spokesperson Kristina Murray. “In the interest of patient privacy, BID Plymouth does not comment on or share individual patient health information.”
