Plea deal dismisses sex trafficking, rape charges against sex offender

WAYNESVILLE, Mo. – Child sex trafficking and rape charges have been dismissed by the state as part of a plea deal with one of four people originally accused of abusing a 13-year-old girl .

Ulysses Tallie was sentenced to four years in prison after pleading guilty to failure to register as a sex offender. Online court documents indicate the trafficking and rape charges were dropped as part of a plea deal in the separate case.

He and Kaleb Gibson were charged after a 13-year-old runaway was found in a St. Robert apartment with a woman who later implicated them in the abuse of the girl.

This woman and another woman were also initially charged with sex trafficking and endangering the welfare of a child, but those charges were dropped as part of plea deals in unrelated cases.

According to a probable cause statement, the girl was found at the Osage Commons Apartments in October 2023 and numerous sexual items were found in her purse. The girl was transported to the Missouri Children's Division office where she tested positive for marijuana, methamphetamine and ecstasy.

Gibson is scheduled to appear in court shortly for a pretrial conference on June 21, 2024. A trial is scheduled to begin July 8 on charges of child sex trafficking and rape.
