Plane with 2 people on board crashes in South Carolina near golf course, sheriff says

A plane crashed Sunday in the Midlands region of South Carolina, according to the Saluda County Sheriff's Office.

The two occupants of the two-passenger plane were transported by helicopter to a hospital, the sheriff's office said in a news release. Further information on their conditions was not available.

A spokesperson for the Saluda County coroner told The State that his office was not asked to respond to either the crash site or the hospital.
