A single-engine plane from Oneonta, which authorities said took off from Albert S. Nader Regional Airport, crashed near Sidney around 2 p.m. The FAA confirmed the incident involving the plane.

The plane is believed to be carrying five passengers. Although the status of the passengers remains unknown, the FAA and NTSB are investigating the incident.
