Schenectady police are investigating the shooting of a juvenile Wednesday in Jerry Burrell Park. Officers responded to the park around 7:30 p.m. and found a victim with what appeared to be a gunshot wound. The youth was transported to Albany Medical Center to receive treatment for what do not appear to be life-threatening injuries.

Pittsfield police have identified the victim of a suspected homicide.

Ryan P. Babcock, 38, of Pittsfield, was found in a vehicle in the 500 block of Fenn Street around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. He had suspected gunshot wounds, police said, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Although there are no suspects, police said, they do not believe it was random and there is no danger to the public.
