Pike arrested for methamphetamine trafficking | News

Thomas Jervis

A Pike man is facing numerous charges after Kentucky State Police say they carried out a “knock and talk” at his residence.

According to a citation written by KSP Trooper Daniel Saylor, on June 4, the Post 9 Criminal Interdiction Team responded to the residence of Thomas Jervis, 39, on Perry Stanley Road, Hardy, in reference to a traffic of drugs alleged by Jervis.

Upon contact with Jervis, Saylor writes, Jervis allowed the soldiers entry and consented to a “visit.”

The citation says Jervis took troopers to his bedroom, where they found a quantity of marijuana in plain view.

Saylor wrote that Jervis opened a locked cabinet and the locked safe inside upon request and, inside, troopers found a baggie containing 15 grams of a substance believed to be methamphetamine, along with 'a set of functional digital scales. Jervis, according to the citation, denied knowledge of these items.

Saylor wrote that officers obtained and executed a search warrant for the remainder of the residence. During that search, Saylor wrote, officers found a safe in a juvenile's bedroom to which the juvenile had access.

The safe, according to the citation, contained a loaded 9mm handgun and $7,000 in cash. The citation states Jervis told officers the money was his but the handgun was not.

Jervis was booked into the Pike County Detention Center for first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (greater than or equal to 2 grams of methamphetamine, first offense), possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and endangering the welfare of a minor.

The arrest comes just two weeks after, according to court documents, Jervis, who is a convicted felon in connection with charges in Ohio, was sentenced by Pike County District Judge Tommy R. May, to 30 days in jail with probation for one year provided there are no new violations. linked to previous Pike County cases.
