Phoebe investigates an employee's alleged social media post

ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) – Phoebe Putney Health System is investigating an employee accused of making an insensitive social media post while at work.

At this time, WALB cannot legally release the employee's name or show the position, but Phoebe's communications director Ben Roberts acknowledges an incident.

Statement released:

“We are aware of social media posts made by a Phoebe employee while at work. The messages failed to demonstrate the level of respect and compassion we expect and demand from members of Phoebe's family. We care deeply about our patients and their families and regret any distress these posts may have caused. We are committed to fully investigating any allegations of policy violations by a caregiver and taking appropriate disciplinary action.
