Philadelphia shootings leave 3 dead – NBC10 Philadelphia

Philadelphia police are investigating after separate shootings in the city Monday night left three people dead.

Police say Monday night's first deadly shooting occurred around 10:30 p.m. in the Kensington neighborhood, when officers were dispatched to the area in the 4900 block of Rorer Street after a person was reported shot.

At the scene, officials said, first responders found a man — about whom police provided no further identifying information — who had been shot several times.

The man, according to police officials, was taken to a nearby hospital where his condition was assessed soon after his arrival.

According to Philadelphia Police Detective DF Pace, investigators believe the shooting occurred when authorities say two gunmen likely opened fire on a group of individuals who were on the other side. from the street.

He said officers found at least two groups of shell casings at the scene and believe members of the targeted group returned fire at the gunmen at some point during this incident.

“We have several shell casings from multiple weapons at this location that our investigators are searching through right now,” he told NBC10.

No arrests have yet been made and, Pace said, police have not yet determined a motive for the incident. However, an investigation is underway.

Kill Strawberry Manor

Police are investigating after a person was killed in a shooting along Stanley Street in Philadelphia's Strawberry Mansion neighborhood Monday evening.

Following this incident, less than an hour later, at approximately 10:57 p.m., police responded to a call of shots fired in the area of ​​the 2500 block of Stanley Street as well as the along the neighboring block of 3000 Cumberland Street.

According to Pace, responding officers found no victims, but located at least 20 shell casings from a 9mm firearm.

However, Pace said, a short time later, a 23-year-old man who had been shot in the neck and chest arrived at a nearby hospital. It was pronounced around 11:17 p.m., officials said.

Pace said police are still seeking more information about this incident and are searching surveillance cameras in the area to determine how this shooting may have unfolded.

No arrests have yet been made in the incident, but, Pace said, an investigation is underway.

Deadly shooting in North Philadelphia

Pace said that less than 20 minutes after officers responded to that shooting, around 11:15 p.m. Monday, authorities responded to a reported shooting along the 2900 block of W. Wishart Street in North Philadelphia.

During that incident, Pace said officers found a 55-year-old woman who had been shot in the head. She was taken to a nearby hospital where, Pace said, she was pronounced dead around 11:21 p.m.

Pace said officers found only one shell casing at the scene and that the victim was killed near the entrance to his home.

“What we know preliminary is that it appears the shooter was on foot on Wishart Street and at close range,” Pace said.

He said authorities were seeking surveillance footage of that shooting and the motive for the shooting was still unknown.

However, Pace said, an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
