Peterborough stabbing sends 1 person to hospital, police arrest 2 suspects – Peterborough

A man is recovering in a Toronto hospital and two men have been arrested following a stabbing Saturday morning in Peterborough, Ont.

At approximately 2:40 a.m., officers from the Peterborough Police Service responded to the area of ​​Lake and George Streets after receiving a call from paramedics regarding a man who had been stabbed.

A 52-year-old man was first transported to the Peterborough Regional Health Center and then transferred to a Toronto hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Officers learned the man had been attacked by two suspects while attempting to take his electric bike.

They were located on Charlotte Street and taken into custody. The police searched the men and seized two knives.

Two Peterborough men, aged 18 and 22, were arrested and each charged with aggravated assault, robbery, battery and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.

They were detained and were due to appear at the Weekends and Public Holidays (WASH) Court in Peterborough later on Saturday.
