Police seized brass knuckles and arrested a suspect after someone allegedly screamed in downtown Kamloops almost a week ago.

Officers were called to the 7-Eleven parking lot in the 600 block of Seymour Street on the evening of Thursday, June 13.

RCMP said arriving officers heard screaming coming from a large group of people.

“One of the people in the group allegedly raised his arm and pointed to where they thought the screams were coming from, revealing a pair of brass knuckles on his hand,” said Cpl. » Crystal Evelyn said in a press release issued today, June 19.

The person with the brass knuckles was arrested and found to be subject to conditions prohibiting him from possessing weapons, RCMP said. Officers also found and seized a bag of methamphetamine.

The RCMP did not say how much methamphetamine was seized or why the unidentified suspect was subject to certain conditions.

The suspect was taken to RCMP cells and released with a court date and conditions. No word on charges against the person.

Anyone with information related to this investigation is asked to call Kamloops RCMP at 250 828-3000 and reference file 2024-18360.
