Person involved in LDF shooting now in custody

FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WBAY) – The person of interest in a shooting in Fond du Lac is now in custody.

Police said that on Wednesday, around 4:30 p.m., Ansheretta West turned herself in to the Fond du Lac Police Department and is currently being held at the Fond du Lac County Jail on a charge of attempted first-degree intentional homicide.

Fond du Lac police are searching for a person of interest involved in a shooting that sent a man to the hospital.

The Fond du Lac Police Department has issued a nationwide temporary arrest warrant for Ansheretta A. West, 32, for Reckless Endangering Safety 1st Degree.

Shortly before 4:30 p.m. Saturday, the Fond du Lac Police Department and the City of Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue responded to the area of ​​175 Hamilton Place for a subject who had been shot in the leg.

Deputies from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene to render aid and medical treatment to a 20-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the leg. FDLPD officers arrived in the area with the Bearcat armored rescue vehicle. The man was loaded into the Bearcat and transported to an ambulance waiting nearby. The victim remains in stable condition.
