One person was injured in a fire at an encampment in Winooski Monday morning, officials say. The Burlington Fire Department said one of its crews was heading to a training exercise just before 9 a.m. when they saw a large column of smoke coming from the Winooski River rail bridge area. firefighters arrived on site, they located a camp on fire under the blue bridge on the Winooski side. A man had burns to his legs and was taken by ambulance for treatment. The Winooski Fire Department was able to extinguish the flames.
