Person allegedly threatened others with gun during fight, Fitchburg police say

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – A person allegedly threatened others with a gun Thursday night during a fight, Fitchburg police said.

Around 10:40 p.m., Fitchburg police responded to an apartment complex in the 2600 block of Post Road on a report of several people fighting in a parking lot. During the incident, it was reported that a fighter had armed himself with a handgun and was using it to threaten some of the other people involved.

Once arrived on scene, the police were able to speak with the people involved. The investigation led police to an apartment where the armed person was believed to be located.

According to Fitchburg police, the armed person refused to leave the apartment after officers asked him to do so. Police then executed a search warrant at the apartment with the assistance of the Dane County Sheriff's Tactical Response Team and the suspect was taken into custody.

Fitchburg police say a firearm was found and taken as part of the search warrant. A 25-year-old Fitchburg resident was booked into the Dane County Jail on charges of second-degree recklessly endangering safety while armed and disorderly conduct while armed.
