Peoria County grand jury indicts man accused of stabbing cousin

PEORIA, Ill. – A man accused of stabbing his cousin last month has been indicted by a Peoria County grand jury.

Korie Neltner, 36, was charged Tuesday with attempted first-degree murder, a class X felony, and a class 3 felony with aggravated battery.

Neltner allegedly went to his cousin's house on May 11 after an argument, pulled out a knife and stabbed him, cutting open his stomach.

Neltner is due back in court Thursday for an arraignment hearing.

The grand jury also indicted Brailen Moore, 18, on counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, a Class 4 felony, and aggravated discharge of a firearm, a Class 1 felony.

Moore is one of three people arrested in connection with a Memorial Day weekend shooting at a Peoria Heights gas station on War Memorial Drive.

Moore is due back in court June 20 for an arraignment hearing.
