Through conversations with the victim and the anonymous witness, police learned the following:

The victim allegedly told police that Pogue stole “his ice or meth” and threw a machete at him. Additionally, the alleged victim stated that “the only reason S/Pogue didn't manage to hit him was because [he] had used his crutch to block the blow, causing damage to the crutch.

After speaking with the alleged victim, police spoke with a witness who stated that “he saw S/Pogue swing the machete at [the victim] and saw [the victim] attempt to block the blows,” the incident report states.

Pogue was eventually arrested and taken to the Escambia County Jail where he was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, battery and burglary.
