Penobscot County deputies arrest three people on drug charges, seize guns

BANGOR — A traffic stop on Interstate 95 led to the arrest of three individuals on drug and gun possession charges, the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office reported.

On May 25, at approximately 4:50 p.m., a Penobscot County sheriff's deputy stopped a vehicle traveling southbound on I-95 in Orono.

The officer recognized Tara Culpovich, 49, of Milford, who had previously been arrested for illegally trafficking Schedule W drugs and had not been permitted to have contact with Robert Moreau, 48, who was also wanted for the same charge.

The vehicle was driven by Paul Dolhancryk, 40, of Enfield, who was on bail for seven different sets of charges at the time of the stop.

Upon investigation, officers found 3.1 grams of suspected crack cocaine, a Glock 9mm handgun, a .22 revolver, a Mossberg 12 gauge shotgun and other drug trafficking related items.

Dolhancryk was charged with aggravated unlawful trafficking in Schedule W drugs (class A felony), possession of a firearm by a prohibited person (class D misdemeanor), and parole violation (class misdemeanor E).

Culpovich and Moreau were charged with illegal trafficking in Schedule W drugs (class B felony) and parole violation (class E misdemeanor).

Following the arrests, officers executed a second search warrant at 32 Pine Street in Milford on May 26 at 8:40 p.m. and discovered additional evidence of drug trafficking.

The Penobscot County Sheriff's Office said the investigation remains active.
