Pennsylvania man sentenced for role in January 6 riots

(WHTM) – A Pennsylvania man was sentenced to three months in prison for his role in the Jan. 6 attack.

The Justice Department said Anthony Nolf of Birdsboro will also serve five months of home detention as a condition of 36 months of supervised release. He will also pay $2,000 in restitution after pleading guilty to one count of civil disorder last October.

Nolf attended the “Stop the Steal” rally in Washington, D.C. on January 6 and entered the Capitol’s West Plaza. Once there, according to the Justice Department, Nolf helped remove the protective fence and returned it to others present during the riot.

Nolf then went to the Lower West Terrace Tunnel where he witnessed the police assault and participated in a heave-ho against a police line. The Justice Department says Nolf could be seen lowering his body and dropping his shoulder onto the rioters.

The FBI arrested Nolf on April 5, 2023.

This case was prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia and the Counterterrorism Section of the Department of Justice's National Security Division. Valuable assistance was provided by the U.S. Attorney's Offices for the District of Delaware and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
