Penelope Wise still missing, Silent Observer now offers reward

After almost two weeks, Silent Observer is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading detectives to find the teen.

CEDAR SPRINGS, Mich. — Penelope “Penny” Wise, 17, has been missing since May 31. Now, after almost two weeks, Silent Observer is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading detectives to find her.

Penelope disappeared around 6 p.m. on May 31 from her home in Cedar Springs. She left her home on foot and security footage was recovered that shows her walking on Rockford Park Drive near Northland Drive, approximately 5 miles from her home later that evening.

13 ON YOUR SIDEs spoke with Penelope's family about a week after the girl disappeared.

“We want her to know that we love her and we care for her,” said her mother Mishael Wise. “Our number one priority is to know that she is safe. We have to make sure that she contacts someone.”

Michael also said there were no signs that their daughter had left the house. However, the parents found a phone that she had hidden from them.

Her parents said Penelope also had mental health issues and although she had left the house alone before, it never lasted more than a few hours.

If you have any information that could lead detectives to Penny's location and safe return, please contact the Kent County Sheriff's Office at 616-632-6125 until 5 p.m. and at 616-632 -6100 after 5:00 p.m.

You can also submit your tip anonymously through Silent Observer at 616-774-2345 or www.silentobserver.org to be eligible for a reward and remain anonymous.
