Pedestrian killed on Pine Tree Road identified by Longview police

LONGVIEW, Texas — A pedestrian who died in a May 1 crash on Pine Tree Road in Longview was near her home when she was killed, according to a police report.

The report obtained through a public information request identified the 60-year-old woman as Cheryl Renae Templeton. The crash happened shortly before 9 p.m. in the area of ​​Pine Tree Road and East Broadway Avenue, a few blocks from where she lived on Rosedale Street.

“During the investigation, officers determined that a Ram pickup truck was traveling northbound in the inside lane approaching East Broadway Drive,” police said in a Facebook post. “A pedestrian, an adult female, attempted to cross Pine Tree Road while walking west and failed to yield right of way to the vehicle and they collided. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital and later died from his injuries.
