Pedestrian killed in crash at major Colorado Springs intersection identified | Traffic

The El Paso Coroner's Office has identified Faraz Rouhani, 46, as the pedestrian who died in a recent traffic accident, according to a news release issued Wednesday by Colorado Springs police.

The accident between Rouhani and a motorcycle driver was reported around 10 p.m. on June 2 at the intersection of Palmer Park and Powers boulevards.

The motorcyclist was transported to an area hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries, police said. Rouhani died on the spot.

Police said Rouhani was crossing the crosswalk against a red light from the west side of Powers to the east side, on the south side of the intersection. The motorcycle was heading north on Powers Boulevard in the right lane with a green light before striking Rouhani.

This is the 26th traffic fatality in Colorado Springs this year. Police said there had been 20 deaths by this time in 2023.
