Pedestrian killed in Clifton Park identified

State police have identified the pedestrian struck and killed Wednesday in Clifton Park.

Christopher E. Merritt, 41, of Spring Hill, Florida, was not in a crosswalk when he crossed the road. He was struck by two vehicles traveling east, state police said.

The accident occurred shortly before 10:30 p.m. near the intersection of Route 146 and Route 9.

Both drivers stopped and called 911, investigators said. Merritt died at the scene.

The investigation into the accident continues.
