Pedestrian identified in fatal road accident on June 2

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A pedestrian who died in a fatal crash with a motorcycle on June 2 has been identified as Faraz Rouhani, 46, of Colorado Springs. The accident occurred at the intersection of Powers Boulevard and Palmer Park Boulevard.

On June 2 at 10:11 p.m., officers from the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) responded to the scene of the accident. Rouhani died at the scene, according to AMR and Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) personnel. The driver of the motorcycle was taken to hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.

An investigation by the Major Crash Team revealed that Rouhani was crossing the crosswalk from the west side of Powers Boulevard to the east side on the south side of the intersection against a red light. The motorcycle was traveling north on Powers and entered the intersection on a green light, striking Rouhani as he crossed.
