Palm Beach County firefighters respond to structure fire

WEATHER ALERTS AS SOON AS THEY ARE ISSUED FOR YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD. COVERING SOUTHERN PALM BEACH COUNTY CREWS RESPONDING TO A TWO-ALARM FIRE AT A LARGE HOUSE NEAR DELRAY BEACH THIS AFTERNOON. OUR ANGELA ROZIER LIVES NEAR HOME IN ANGELA. CREWS SAY LIGHTNING MAY HAVE STARTED THE FIRE. THAT'S RIGHT. They say it appears to be an accident and, as you say, possibly triggered by lightning. We are now located just off 441. Just south of West Atlantic Avenue. WE ARE OUTSIDE OF THIS VISION HERE. IT’S CALLED THE TIERRA DEL REY ESTATE. SOUTH. AS YOU CAN SEE, THE FIREFIGHTERS ARE STILL OUT FOR HOURS. NOW PALM BEACH COUNTY FIRE RESCUE OFFICIALS RECEIVED THE CALL AROUND 12:20 THIS AFTERNOON. CALLER from A911 reported seeing a house with flames coming from the roof which we were told units were on scene in less than six minutes. AND UPON ARRIVAL, THE CREWS SAW A FIRE COMING FROM A VERY LARGE BUILDING. APPROXIMATELY 11,000 FEET AND FIVE ACRES OF LAND. Luckily there were two fire hydrants right across the street. We were able to get that water supply and get water on the fire pretty quickly. HOWEVER, IT WAS A VERY LARGE FIRE AND WE ENDED UP GOING TO A SECOND ALARM. AND THE FIREFIGHTERS SHARED SOME PHOTOS WITH US. They said they have about 36 units here. THIS SCALE OF TRUCKS, ENGINES AS WELL AS SUPPORT UNITS. Again, they say it appears to have been started by lightning and there were no injuries.
