Pakistani authorities arrest Lahore smuggler, seize several fake ID cards and passports

The Anti-Human Trafficking Circle of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Sunday arrested a human smuggler in Lahore, Pakistan.

The operation recovered seven Pakistani passports, six CNIC cards and various counterfeit stamps from the suspect, Azhar. Legal proceedings have been initiated with a complaint filed against him, according to Pakistani channel ARY News.

Earlier this month, the FIA arrested another suspect involved in human trafficking and visa fraud in Mirpur Khas. The suspect, identified as Maqsood, allegedly deceived a citizen by promising a work visa to Portugal and collected Rs 1,000,000 before hiding with his accomplices. The FIA said it has launched an investigation into the matter to uncover additional information and apprehend any other persons linked to the case.

Making further arrests for suspected human trafficking, the FIA Immigration Cell arrested two individuals, Muhammad Nabi and Aminullah, on June 15. The suspects were apprehended at Peshawar airport while trying to leave the country. Muhammad Nabi, a leading suspect in human trafficking and visa fraud, was apprehended while trying to board a flight to Oman. Upon inspection, authorities discovered numerous fake visa stickers stored on his mobile device. Meanwhile, Nabi is allegedly involved in several ongoing investigations at FIA Composite Circle Mardan.

Both operations are part of FIA's ongoing efforts to combat human trafficking and related crimes across the country.

In another crackdown on human trafficking last month, six traffickers were reportedly apprehended by the FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Rawalpindi, as reported by ARY News.
