(NewsNation) — The Bahamas' chief tourism officer has offered condolences to the family of Taylor Casey, a 41-year-old Chicago woman who local authorities say has not been seen in six days.

Casey disappeared from a yoga retreat on Paradise Island, five miles from Nassau, on June 19. An active police investigation is currently underway. The retreat Casey attended has previously been hailed by Gwyneth Paltrow's lifestyle brand Goop as “otherworldly,” “idyllic” and “totally immersive.”

Bahamas Tourism Director General Latia Duncombe spoke to local media on Tuesday morning.

“Our hearts go out to the family of the missing person,” Duncombe said. “I’m sure the authorities are doing everything in their power to bring some resolution.”

According to a press release from Casey's family, she was last seen at the Sivananda Ashram yoga retreat.

“We are deeply concerned for Taylor's safety and well-being,” said Colette Seymore, Taylor Casey's mother. “We love Taylor and want her to come home.

“I believe Taylor is in danger because she was eager to share her yoga retreat experience with others when she returned. Taylor would never disappear like that.

Seymore is part of a contingent heading to the Bahamas to help with the ongoing search.
