Organ trafficking: Kerala police arrest Hyderabad mastermind

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Kerala Police, probing illegal organ harvesting from people including Malayalis, has arrested the main mastermind behind human trafficking for international trade. organs from Hyderabad.

The SIT arrested organ trafficking boss Ballamkonda Ramaprasad, also known as Prathapan of Hyderabad. Aluva Rural SP Vaibhav Saxena told a press conference here on Saturday that the Kerala investigation team had reached Hyderabad and recorded the arrest of accused Ramaprasad.

Sabith Nassar, the main accused, who was arrested earlier in the case, provided crucial information about him to the police team. Following this, the SIT quickly reached Hyderabad and made the arrest. He was brought to Aluva for questioning and is currently in the custody of the Aluva Police.

Ramaprasad's method was to find people online and persuade them to become organ donors. He revealed that there was only one victim from Kerala, while most of the victims were from Hyderabad and Tamil Nadu. Police also discovered his links to an Iranian group.

Sabith Nasser admitted to authorities that the majority of organ traffickers came from Bangalore and Hyderabad. Since 2019, a group led by Sabith has been trafficking individuals from different parts of the country to Iran for the purpose of organ trading.

It was found that the main accused, Sabith Nassar, initially established contacts with the organ trafficking gang in Hyderabad.
