One of three teens arrested for violent kidnapping, robbery: Martin Co. Sheriff

Three people, including a teenage girl, were arrested after detectives say they plotted a violent kidnapping and robbery in Martin County.

The Martin County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) says a man expected to meet a woman he had spoken to online, only to become the victim of a robbery plot.

The victim told detectives he traveled to Martin County and met one of the suspects, a 15-year-old girl from Port St. Lucie. The man said the teen told him she was 18 and after spending a short time with the victim, she allegedly took his wallet and car keys without his knowledge.

Still not sure what situation he was in, MCSO said the man began receiving Cash-App withdrawal alerts on his phone. When the victim questioned the teenage suspect, two 19-year-old men – Tyrese Kerr of West Palm Beach and Dali Gordon of Royal Palm Beach – showed up at the meeting location armed with a handgun and with their faces covered in masks.

The sheriff's office said the victim was pistol-whipped and then dragged to several locations to withdraw money.

Fortunately, Stuart police conducted a traffic stop on the car after learning that an abduction was taking place. The sheriff's office has not revealed how law enforcement learned of the alleged kidnapping.

The three suspects were taken into custody and charged with kidnapping, robbery with a firearm and theft of a motor vehicle.
