One of three men convicted for involvement in deadly South Anthony Boulevard shooting | News

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) – One of three men accused in the January 2023 fatal shooting of a woman in southeast Fort Wayne was sentenced today.

Police told FOX55 the initial report was that an 18-year-old girl was found shot to death in a car near the corner of South Anthony Boulevard and Simons Street following a “baby mama drama.”

The Allen County Prosecutor's Office said Rashun A Carter, 26, was sentenced to prison on charges of murdering Jocelyn M. Bolf, 18, of Fort Wayne.

Carter was convicted June 3 on multiple charges after the jury trial.

The first charge against Carter was murder, serving a 63-year prison sentence.

Count Two: Attempted Murder/Attempted Intentional Murder of Another, which is pending before a hung jury, with a rolling verdict.

The third charge Carter faces is criminal recklessness committed with a deadly weapon, which earns him an additional two years in prison.

A fourth final charge: use of a firearm during the commission of an offense, which gives him 20 years in prison.

Adding up all the years, Carter faces spending 85 consecutive years in prison for these charges.

Moments after being shot Tuesday night, the driver of a black Lincoln sedan told a Fort Wayne police detective that the shooting was linked to a “baby mama drama” involving the woman who was shot in the car with him, according to a court document released Wednesday. .
