One of the five killed in the North Las Vegas shooting has been identified as a 24-year-old graduate student.

One of the five victims killed by a shooter in North Las Vegas this week was identified as a 24-year-old graduate student.

The Clark County Coroner's Office said Wednesday that Kayla Harris was one of the victims.

Adams State University in Colorado confirmed that Harris was a graduate student at the school. She completed her bachelor's degree last fall and was currently studying a master's degree in business administration. She was also a member of the women's basketball team.

“Darin and I are so proud of all she has accomplished at Adams State,” Adams State President David Tandberg said in a statement. “We have had the privilege of watching Kayla excel on and off the field. It seems almost impossible to understand and process the loss of a young woman so early in her promising life.”

The university said counselors will be available to students, faculty and staff to help anyone in need.

North Las Vegas police said Eric Adams, 48, shot six people Monday at an apartment complex, killing five. The sixth victim, identified as a 13-year-old girl, remained in critical condition Wednesday.

The names of the other four victims are still awaiting official confirmation from the coroner's office, although family members have identified three as Anna Damiana Munoz, 59, Amy Munoz, 40, and Amy's son, Christopher , 21 years old.
