One dead in Lafayette shooting Tuesday evening

LAFAYETTE, Louisiana (KLFY) — One person is dead after a shooting Tuesday evening in Lafayette, authorities said.

Just before midnight, Lafayette police received a 911 call about multiple shots fired near an apartment complex in the 1000 block of Robley Drive. Officers found a victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.


The victim was transported to an area hospital where he later died from his injuries.

During the initial investigation, officers located a vehicle potentially involved in the shooting traveling on a nearby roadway. Officers attempted to stop him, but the vehicle refused to stop and fled the scene. A car chase ensued in Vermilion Parish, which ended in the Kaplan area and three suspects were taken into custody.

The names of the victim and suspects have not been released.
